I don't know about you George but I watch the oil pressure gauge to see if
I have pressure every time I start an engine.

I noticed that you guys will take advice from anyone who want to give it on
the list whether or they have ever been a mechanic or not but when someone
comes along who has been one all his life you scoff at him.
Must be the name Walt that irritates you guys not the experience or what.

By the way gear pumps have about .001 clearance if in good shape. that is
enough to pump air. By the way it has to because every time that you stop your
engine the oil drains back down the pickup tub because you don't have anything
to stop it the bottom. that mean that you have to pump some air every time
that you start your engine.

I had it with you guys on this subject so if you want prime your pumps well
then be my guest. I will make sure that mine are in proper working order.
