[AT] To oil or not to oil pre--filter

Hi Mike:  I've never oiled any foam prefilter (to the best of my
recollection) and being dry I usually clean them with a shop vac (sometimes
compressed air, if it's not going to blow the foam apart).  I use the
shop-vac on the paper element too, tapping it on the bench or the floor to
shake the dust loose first.  I guess I'm kind of frugal in some ways.  I
don't buy very many replacement air filters for my small engines.  They
usually seem to clean up pretty decent.  And you know that a
partially-clogged filter is a BETTER filter in terms of filtration, as long
as it's not choking the engine.
