<div dir="ltr">Hi Mike: I've never oiled any foam prefilter (to the best of my recollection) and being dry I usually clean them with a shop vac (sometimes compressed air, if it's not going to blow the foam apart). I use the shop-vac on the paper element too, tapping it on the bench or the floor to shake the dust loose first. I guess I'm kind of frugal in some ways. I don't buy very many replacement air filters for my small engines. They usually seem to clean up pretty decent. Thanks Steve, that was kind of the way I was leaning, I usually
clean the prefilter in a mason jar half full of gasoline, then let
it dry, the oil just seems to gum stuff up.<br>
