There's an infinite list of things the article does not detail.

That the North American market is important to Mahindra's corporate direction can be seen from the fact that Pawan Goenka, the managing director of parent company Mahindra and Mahindra Limited, gave some insight into the firm's U.S. plans to the Detroit News.. Brand awareness is a key place to start.

Yeah, right. Making a Roxor legal has zero to do with political support. The laws that every other manufacturer has to follow are crystal-clear. Emissions compliance and safety compliance. Period.

Mahindra has been making noises about setting up a manufacturing plant in Flint. I am a little suspicious that they are just trying to get political support for making the Roxor street lega.

When I was looking at a small compact tractor, I had a choice between a Kubota 39 horse or a Mahindra 40 horse. I drove both and liked them both, Kubota makes a nice machine. When we sat down to talk numbers, the salesman, (same dealership franchise) said if I liked them both he would opt for the year older Mahindra with a Tier III engine vs the Kubota that had a Tier IV engine. Mind you this was at least 5 years ago, but he said that the Tier IV engines where coming in with problems his techs did not have the knowledge or equipment to fix. If they are not run hard, they go into regen mode and you have to put them at full throttle and let it run that way for 30 minutes to clean the filter. Not sure if this is still the case, I suspect not, but at the time it made my choice easy. My Tier III is all mechanical, which means that if I can't fix it any diesel mechanic would have no problem with it, no electronics or computer for the engine.

Not being a farmer but a maintenance mechanic who repairs all manner of items I’ve read with interest the comments on this list about “Right to repair” and the big manufacturers. Today’s NY Times has an editorial on just that as it relates to the military. Our tax dollars at work, against us. Not sure, you may need a subscription to read but jeez, what a mess. Send equipment back to the States from the battlefield because the Marines can’t repair their equipment.

That is just one more reason I'm happy to be running older machinery and vehicles built before y2k.
