This sets Ferguson's visit to West Allis as in 1928. This may have been when the Fordson F went out of production in Dearborn. A ship ticket from Belfast to the US East Coast and a train ticket to West Allis was a lot of money in those days. When Allis Chalmers got around to the Model U, the market wanted a replacment for the Fordson F.

Sands leaves Ferguson and purchases a Bean bus for use in public transport. Fordson tractor goes out of production. Ferguson establishes a major road race in Ulster.

Discussions with Allis Chalmers, Rover and Ransomes about the possibility of building a tractor incorporating his principles come to nothing.[end link]
         

Harry Ferguson visited Allis Chalmers trying to get them to put his hitch system on tractors. AC took the concept and developed it themselves. Harry was using a two up and 1 down system then. I am cuprous as to the first AC model offered
