Wow. That is high but I don’t think I’ve seen a 258 sell. 256s are common as dirt but a decent one always commands $1500-2200 around here, depending on overall condition, breaks, welds, dolly wheel or not, etc. The only reason I don’t trade up to something better is because my $700 model 57 3point rake will never leave $$$$$ worth of hay behind in its lifetime, nor cause $$$$$ worth of inconvenience. But every time I use it swear I’m going to...

It was one like I always wanted but could never have, even though I have not harvested hay in 20 years. It said it had very little use and looked great in the pictures. It was a newer one as it it had the newer type decals. I have no idea what new ones cost but thought this one sold pretty high; $5,250 plus 6% buyers cost. A lot of wheel rakes are showing up in our area but I have never watched one work, however most of them are quite wide. We have some custom harvesters that do hay for some of the big dairies in our area. They have 30 foot mowers and cut at 15 miles per hour. One of their men told my brother that one day last year they cut and chopped 600 acres in a single day.
