[AT] Hay Rake

Spencer mentioned not liking his hay rake. An online auction 60 miles 
from here closed tonight. They had a New Holland 258 roll-a-bar rake 9 
feet wide.  It was one like I always wanted but could never have, even 
though I have not harvested hay in 20 years. It said it had very little 
use and looked great in the pictures. It was a newer one as it it had 
the newer type decals. I have no idea what new ones cost but thought 
this one sold pretty high; $5,250 plus 6% buyers cost. A lot of wheel 
rakes are showing up in our area but I have never watched one work, 
however most of them are quite wide. We have some custom harvesters that 
do hay for some of the big dairies in our area. They have 30 foot mowers 
and cut at 15 miles per hour. One of their men told my brother that one 
day last year they cut and chopped 600 acres in a single day.
