I visited at Timken around 35 years ago. They had specified and purchased an incomplete piece of bearing manufacturing equipment. They finished it themselves and did not share their work with the equipment manufacturer. This meant that their competitors could not buy the same equipment.

Next we come to the cryptic "You can tell a lot about a company by the restrooms they keep". Timken's were about the best I have seen.

I can remember when Timken bought Torrington.

Canton, Ohio, started WW1 as Berlin, Ohio.

It is not clear to me what Timken bearings were used in Hercules engines.

[Cecil Bearden] John: Thanks for that interchange.  I lost many of my interchange lists on the computer when I got a virus a couple of years ago, Cecil

[ John Hall] I use this for matching up bearings. https://www.timken.com/resources/5768_timken-fafnir-farm-line-interchange/
