I have several problems, they may be related. Baler is a 648 with the
bale command system. REplaced belts last year with John Deere style
aggressive belts and JD lacings. Replaced gears and bearings in sledge
roller this spring. When started up. will bale about 5 bales then starts
having problems on auto wrap. Have to extend wrap actuator to get srap
to start. Sometimes pressing wrap buton will start wrap. Computer
usually errors out when trying to wrap automatically. When ejecting
bale, the cutter knife is supposed to raise when the gate is raised.
Sometimes it does sometimes you have to raise and lower and then raise
again to get the cutter to raise. Or climb up on top and pull the cutter
back into "ready" position. Loose hay builds up on top of twin arms an
will build up until it fills the chamber under the wrap. Loose hay will
build up on top of net cutter, then drop out when dumping bale. however,
sometimes the hay keeps building up until it fills up the entire area
above the cutter on top of the rubber sheet and fills over the top of
the baler. Concerned that maybe the betst are too aggressive for prairie
hay here in central OK.... Baler ran perfect until replaced the sledge
roller gears and bearings. Belts worked fine for last part of last years
balling season. Net seems like it does not go completely to edge. Had
problem for a while with the colored stripe sticking to the counter
roller. Changed net roll and now the opposite side splits apart about 1
inch from the end. it splits while on the roll before it hits the first
toller. I cannot afford to take this to the dealer or call a service man
who knows nothing about the baler and has only been working on farm
equipment the last mopnth. The service personnel problem is really
terrible here..
