[AT] Battery Charger recommendations

Steve,

Thanks for the additional information. The Sears DieHard Gold is the primary
one I'm interested in and I just checked the SC15 specs and as you say the
Diehard Gold has tweaked guts. One of the most noticeable tweaks is the
SC15 is 12V only and the Diehard Gold is 6v and 12V charging. Both voltages
are a hard requirement. And I feel more comfortable with an Atuomatic
Charging system than a manual one Primarily because as I've gotten older
I've also become more forgetful. :-) I've downloaded the SC15 manual and
I'll compare notes on things like duty cycle and overload protections, etc.

If I have had to make a guess right now it looks like the Diehard Gold unit
may have more idiot protection features in it and the way the Sears warranty
is written if it fails in the first three years all you have to do is being
it back to the store and they replace it. The Schumacher warranty requires
shipment back to the factory which could become quite expensive. Details
details.

It's better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Unless things have changed in the past couple months the Diehard wheeled
units are Schumacher made. 2010 they reached the current agreement and
expanded the sales area as well.

The SE-4022 is also sold as the Diehard DH-200M Same guts with different
decals.

The Model # 71341 Diehard gold is the SC15 case with tweaked guts.

With that said, You might want to look at Associated Equipment.

They make a real good unit. Not cheap but real good units.
