I've seen it on a few vehicles. The salt and mineral content do a number 
on just about anything. It's one reason why I don't buy vehicles that 
spent there lives in ocean front areas. The "fresh salt air" is almost 
as bad, especially if the vehicle then goes to a location that is humid.
