Sorry about the confusion George! Kind of surprised you picked up on it 
given there aren't many crawler collectors on the list.

The IH dealer dad worked for traded for a forklift built on something like 
an IH 424 tractor (built in reverse obviously). It had large boxes on the 
back that could be filled with ballast. The previous owner had filled them 
with slugs from a punch press. One day they backed up off the concrete close 
to a ditch and before you could blink the back end was on the ground. They 
had to jack it up and put blocks under the wheels before they could tow it 
out.

Same forklift was stored under a shed that caught fire. Turned the forklift 
into a brown blob. Their mechanics rebuilt it but it was quite a mess. They 
never did pound out all the dents in the fenders caused by the burning 
tires. Fortunately the radiator hoses and fuel tank held, but a lot of seals 
got ruined and I think the pressure plate springs were shot.
