I am restating this information others have provided and adding a little.

In MasseyFerguson at yahoogroups.com We had a thread about MF21s made in the former Massey Harris plant in France. We think these were
a renamed Pony. Some had Hanomag engines. The group has some photos showing a rough MF21 with Hanomag diesel in it. What they do not
show is the front end.

The former Massey Ferguson enthusiast's publication Wild Harvest, published by Keith Oltrogge, went by the wayside about three years
ago. It is hoped Legacy Quarterly will help fill the void left by the demise of Wild Harvest. Updating and reprinting the Massey
Tractor Data Book would be a great project for someone.

The Massey Tractor Data Book by Keith Oltrogge, published in 1999, is about the best Pony reference. They are not available today.
Occasionally you will find them at on the used book market!! In there, he references serial numbers 23149 to 23853 as being gray
Ponys. In most cases we say if it has a 23XXX number it might have been gray. All gray Ponys had the MHF tag on them. The serial
number and the Pacer front end are usually the giveaway as to whether it is a gray Pony or not. HOWEVER, the rare 1957 red MH Pony
also had the Pacer front end but their numbers started with 24XXX. Hope this helps a little.

The name plate tag is located below the right front of the engine. It will only say Massey Harris for the Massey Harris tractor made
before the merger and Massey Harris Ferguson on the Ferguson model which were made after the merger. Some of the post merger models
of red MH Pony had the MHF tags as well.

There is a physical difference between the Grey Ferguson Pony's and the Red/Yellow Ponys. The Gray Pony has a Pacer front end under
it. The support braces from the adjustable front going under the engine have a gusset supporting the rod. The spindles are also a
little larger than the MH Ponies making it sit just a little taller than a regular MH Pony. The serial numbers are also easy to
match as well. They range from 23,149 to 23,853. There were only about 700 Ferguson Ponys made.
