Paul,

That is really a neat trick. Wish I'd thought of that on my first stuck tractor many years ago. I
soaked it in diesel fuel for months and every day that I went by the barn I would tug on the bar I
had attached to the flywheel. Had other higher priority things to do so it really wasn't holding me
up. After several months went by, without success, I had essentially given up but continued to do my
daily duty. One day... Whoa, the bar moved! A couple forward and backward movements and it was free.
Amazing.

I really like the constant tension on the flywheel with your trick and an obvious indicator when the
engine comes loose. Really cool. The only thing close to that I've done was when I had a clutch
drive disc that wouldn't come loose. Tightened up a HD gear puller on it as tight as I could get it,
sprayed some penetrating oil on the splines every few days. And even heated it a few times. Several
days went by and then I heard what I thought was a rifle shot. The drive disk was laying on the
ground.

One trick I have not had to use but sounds like it would do well.   Put the 
bolts in the flywheel.  Place a pry bar in between the bolts.  Now, either 
jack up the pry bar to raise the frontend 4-5 inches off the ground. Or 
raise the front off the ground 4-5 inches and secure the pry bar holding the 
front up.  Of course sparkplugs are out, and now you can put diesel, ATF or 
what ever you like.  Let it sit, check and add your 'solution' every few 
days. One day you will go to the shop and the front wheels will be on the 
ground :)), and engine free.
