I own a 48 Cub that was my dad's dating back to about 1953. It has no hydraulics, still runs like a top, but I can't answer your questions about the clutch, block, etc. It is a wonderful little tractor which I use often. Rich Brown

Ran across a Cub with no hydraulics. It is a 48 model. I have not seen it
in person so I have some questions about this "oddball". Am I correct in
assuming the block is different than Cubs with hydraulics (no provision for
a pump)? Also, is the clutch and bull gear housings different than Cubs with
hydraulics? Specifically I am wondering if there is anywhere to bolt the
touch control and if the manual lift used the same mounting places on the
  housings.
