Skip, the Farmall A's had an elevator if you left the front cultivator 
brackets on it.  Just step up on the bracket and raise the lift.  Then you 
could step right off on the platform.  I've done it many times just for the 
fun of it.  I was young enough then that I could have jumped in the seat so 
I didn't need an elevator.
