Mattias it's interesting that you mentioned the gulf stream.  It passes 
really close to the coast here in NC.  It is something that everyone should 
experience.  It's 29 F here right now.  If I could borrow my friends boat I 
could drive the 40 minutes to the beach get in his boat and be in the gulf 
stream in another hour.  By then it might be up to 40 F here if that much. 
I'm willing to bet you that it would be 60 or 65 out in the gulfstream and 
just like a warm spring day.  I've been out there fishing in the winter when 
it was cold, cloudy and dreary on land and hated to come back in, back to 
the winter.  I'm sure the stream isn't that warm up at your latitude Mattias 
but I bet even there it makes a big difference.

When I went to school they said the next iceage is coming. Of course
as you all know this is true, it will happen this things goes in
cycles and further more we're moving towards the northern pole at the
stunning speed of 1cm/year. BTW don't buy any summerhouses at the
Mediterranian(s) shore, Africa is moving by the speed of 2cm/year. So
the Mediterranian is doomed! I don't believe it will happen the couple
of decades so no need to worry.

But then we have the global warming (though it felt very distant a
week ago or so when the dieslline from the tank froze on my DB950 at
-15C, another #¤%# story). If that would cause the Northern pole and a
lot of glaciers to melt some people think that could cause the
Gulfstream to stop then we would get a climate more like Ralph.
Doesn't sound all that cosy but iceage? No.

Another problem that might really be a problem in Germany and Poland
is that the oceans would raise. Here that wouldn't cause that much
problemsa problems because the ground is raising with a speed at
0-9mm/year since the last iceage. Least in the south as Skåne so they
will have more problems but they should be careful with building to
close to the water anyway due to their erosionproblems.

I also saw on TV a few weeks ago that Dutch are abandonning some of
their land leaving it back to the water. This because they don't think
that they can't keep up with higher flows forever.
