[AT] Fuel cans and dispensing - ideas requested

Slightly OT for this thread but only a little.

Has anyone else had plastic cans split? I was filling a 5 gallon plastic
can, almost new and it was about half full and the side split open. Luckily
I had a second can to fill so I could pour most of the gas in it and lost
less than a gallon on the concrete. 

The plastic can was a blitz ventless brand. Is one brand better than another
or was I just unlucky and got a bad can?
