If you need a filter for breathing air, a whole house activated carbon
filter works well. I used one for a long time before I bought my air
compressor filter I now use for sandblasting. I painted some black
aliphatic paint with an airless sprayer and used a carbon filter mask
that did not fit good. I did not know about the fumes leaking in
because I sleep with a CPAP unit and my nose is burned out as far as
smelling anything. I can stand over a roadkill skunk and not smell
anything!! Anyway, I ended up coughing up black paint for 3 days and
getting chemical pneumonitis. I now have to be very careful when I
begin to have any congestion as I burned my lungs and cannot afford any
congestion. A supplied air mask is the best way to prevent breathing
the bad stuff....
I am going to use my sandblast hood with the tear offs for painting...
Maybe I can keep the sight clean. I always had problems with paint mist
in my eyes.
