Hi Steve good to see you back,  Easier than splitting water, you could
operate an electric automobile at no cost to yourself. Just secretly run an
extension cord over to your neighbors house for recharging.
 
Better yet as someone else said, the big boys should use nuclear power to
split the water to make it a good fuel. Since the electric grid is pretty
much everywhere the nitrogen could be produced locally with little transport
involved. 
 
A friend showed up at the coffee shop, all excited about splitting water
using battery power from his pick-up to cut down of gasoline consumption.
Knowing you can't get something for nothing I did a little research and
printed out some material Showing all the slippage involved. From the
internal combustion engine, belting to the alternator, alternator itself,
and the electrolysis process.
