Another way to test temp gauges is to remove them and put the bulb in boiling
water on the stove.

Roy, on a warmer day 25+ f  tie a couple feedsacks over the front grill 
unless you can get a piece of pasteboard in front of the rad, then run it 
for a hour or until the gauge makes a move before you throw the gauge away 
and install a new one.  I can`t get the 504 gage to move at all in the 
winter.  Then the 560 will move on up to 140-150 after 15 minutes of running 
no matter how cold it is out, same way with the M 6cyl.
