The clutch is working fine, and I don't see but a drop or two of oil  
on the snow I am driving over.

I started and restarted the thing a few times today (ran out of gas  
once) and there was some smoke till it got warmed up.  There may be a  
sticking valve.  It was running rough then abruptly smoothed out and  
purred.  I really hope I have not hurt the head by running with low  
oil pressure.

There is some oil down in the pan area in front of the engine,,and a  
bit of coolant, too.  But not all over the engine.

  put another two quarts in it today before running it (I'd gotten the  
truck stuck on the front lawn and needed to pull it out.)  The oil  
pressure held up high for a while then went down again.
