Almost all new printers come with "starter" toner or ink cartridges.  Plan on about 10% capacity depending....  

If you print enough, get a refill kit, but that can cause the drums to fail sooner.  

I've got a old Lexmark still labeled IBM black only ink jet.  Black only is fairly cheep, I use one tank a year, but the last time I had a hard time finding the ink, it's on the obsolete list.
