Hi Gene,
  I was told that my LA is an early one because it has a wooden deck on
it.   I would like to add the higher compression head or have mine
milled down I'm told it will pull a lot harder if you do.

  I my big problem right now is the body work that metal is thich and
takes one hell of a hammer to get it straight.  I got the hood straight
for now the tank will only take a little cleaning up but the fenders
need a lot work to get them straight.

  Anyway I hope to get most of it done by this summer.

Yes Salem and Brooks are in NW Oregon.
