[AJD] OT Opinions on buying parts

Tom, I own an electronics store, I have been in business for 11 years
now. If it were a part I needed to order for a customer that came in a
two pack I would do one of the two things.

1. If it were a small priced item as you said $1.50 I would sell the one
part to him for say $5.00 and put the other on the shelf. Now I made a
nice little profit, my customer is happy and I have a spare part to
maybe sell again.

In fact I did this just yesterday, I have a customer that came here from
Africa, the TV's there are from Europe and they use a different antenna
connector than we use here in the states, I ordered the part from a
parts dealer in England, the connector is $1.50 and comes in a two pak.
I told him one connector with shipping would cost him $25.00. He's happy
as a pig in mud, I made money and I have a spare connector.

2. If it were a big ticket item say $25.00 and I would never sell the
other one. I would tell the customer they would need to buy both, or I
can not order it.

I really think that most customers would understand this and buy both.
