[AT] 8-volt batteries in 6-volt tractors

I have an 8V in my '56 Case crawler, and charging it (from fairly dead) goes 
like this.

Charger set on 6V high overnight, 12V on low for more 2 hrs and the 
hydrometer or load testers say "fine".

If I try starting the charge cycle on 12V low, it will pop the thermal reset 
and if I just use 6V high, it will not fully charge.
