[AT] Possible road trip...

Hey Farmer, I'm assuming you're going and coming via I-74, I-75, I-40,
US-321 to Gastonia. I've pulled loaded trailers through from Lexington
to Asheville with no problem even though the highways are being worked
on and there are lane restrictions in Tennessee north of Knoxville, and
in North Carolina west of Asheville. I make the trip from Evansville to
central North Carolina a couple times each year and I much prefer the
I-65/I-40 combination rather than the stretch of I-75 from Lexington to
Knoxville. There just isn't much along I-75. That's good if you have a
reliable vehicle. It could be bad if you have mechanical problems.

When I went through on I-75 last spring, there were warning signs about
traffic backups for miles in southern Kentucky. I asked the ladies at
the Welcome Center in Tennessee about it, and they said they often see
south-bound traffic in grid-lock all the way from the Tennessee border
to Knoxville depending on what the road crews are doing. The particular
day I was there, I saw no tie-ups at all.

Larry

Hi farmer,
Assuming you come down I-77 you will be about 15 miles or so west of me
(I'm about 10 miles west of Spencer).
I don't have lots of goodies to look at but I'll be glad to try to meet
you along I-77 if you come and the timing works out.
Maybe we can set up some sort of meeting place where some others can
join for a bit.
