Dave, the problem with the crank is that the drive gear is cut in the end
of it. Somewhere I think I may have a crank for a Walsh. It was the same
basic engine but I'm not sure if the crank is the same or not. I do know
the flywheel is already riding on another K Kincade so that much was the
same. The serial number should be stamped on the block in front of the oil
fill plug. The earlier numbers don't have the date codes in them like the
later ones. If you email Mark B from the website you posted he may be able
to give you an idea by the number. He's working on a theory that there may
be a code in the numbers and I'm sure he'd appreciate seeing the number.
The other thing with the handles is that the controls were like motorcycle
grips on the ends of the wood handlebars. They were cast iron, one
controled the clutch and the other the throttle. The wood handles were
rounded down on the end and a brass sleeve was put over the wood for the
control grips to ride on. If you need some pics, I can take some of mine.
May even havea manual that could be copied. I'll look.
