Positive displacement means that it will pump air as well as oil if it
doesn't then you need to replace or repair the pump, simply priming it will not
repair it. I won't run an engine that needs to have the pump primed because
sooner or later you are going to damage something. It doesn't matter if the
engine has set for 20 years or if you just put it together yesterday the pump
does not need to be primed if it is in proper working condition.
>From what I here out there on the list the Cub must have a very poorly made
pump if you need to prime then to get them working.
