Code in my area for installing propane heating systems does not allow 
galvanazed pipe.  I was told that was because the galvanized coating can 
flake off and cause a dangerous malfunction of the appliance.  Maybe 
flaking pipes could damage your hydraulic pump if the filter doesn't do its 
job.   John W.
