Ralph, the "tube screen filter" Doug mentions should come out with the 
exterior fitting--if there's one in there.  You shouldn't have to take the 
carb apart to get to it.  The old Farmalls typically have this filter in 
the fitting--and I believe some JD's...probably after the letter 
series...not sure.   John W.
