[AT] OT-Brake controller

Brad,
I did a ton of research when purchasing one for my Cummins
Dodge and found that the Jordan brake controller to have
just about the best feedback of the ones out there. What
I like about the Jordan is that there is a cable that
connects to the brake pedal arm and gradually adjusts the
brake pressure as you apply it. There's no waiting for the
weight inside to swing and catch up with the truck and
no delay like the ramp ones. Check out their site.
http://www.jordanbrake.com/ and read up on them. The best
thing about it is the Jordan stands behind everything
he makes. If you call them he will most likely answer
the phone. Installation was a breeze and adjustment was
even easier. It's weird to drive the truck with a load
on the trailer and never feel the truck jerk or pull. It
just pulls straight and you hardly know there's a trailer
back there. BTW, I bought mine off eBay and got a great
deal on it. I've driven trucks with other types but
this one is the best. That's my .02.
Rob

Subject: [AT] OT-Brake controller

This is a little off topic but if we haul these tractors we need to get
stopped to unload them!! ;-)

I recently upgraded to an 02 Ford Crew Cab 4x4 Powersmoke and need to
install a brake controller in it. All my previous trucks had the
Tekonsha (I think) that were hydraulic. Those tapped into the brake
system to activate.

I've been looking at the newer controllers (http://www.etrailer.com)
and noticed time delayed and proportional controllers. I'm leaning
towards the Tekonsha PRODIGY T controller. This is a proportional
controller that you don't have to set. It self levels itself to the
vehicle.

I was curious if anyone has used the different time delayed vs
proportional controllers and which they preferred and why. Also if
anyone has the Prodigy controller what they think of it.

Thanks!!

Brad
