[AT] Concrete slab

Ricky and Charlie,

I'm pulling this out of my head so it may not be real accurate, but it will
depend on the mixes you want to compare anyway. A CY of reasonably good
concrete for a floor will contain approximately the following:

6 - 96# sacks of cement.
2400# clean washed stone.
1200# clean mason sand.
36 gallons clean water.

I understand finding water in your area may be a bit of a problem. :-)

For a 4" thick floor, figure 80 Sq. Ft. per CY and multiply the materials
accordingly.

Unless you can get the materials donated and delivered free making your own
will not be cost effective except for really small jobs that require a
premium for delivery. At least that's how it works out here in Ohio.

Keep in mind also that if you make your own you may be mixing some of it
when you really should be finishing elsewhere.

George Willer
