[AT] Allis Chalmers Model G decals

Since my tractors are all working tractors I
personally probably wouldn't pay any more for water
decals. I do like seeing a tractor with actual paint
on it instead of rust but as soon as I have shown one
once it is destined to start getting scratched up. I
just don't worry about a show quality paint job. I try
to do one more like a common dealer would have done on
a repaint back in those days. Some looked real nice
and some were a little rough around the edges. Few
small dealers had regular paint men on staff. More
often one full time mechanic and a few part time young
helpers.
I have bought from Maple Hunter and was quite
satisfied for my purposes. We do carefully trim all of
the excess vinyl from the outside rather than have
large areas of clear vinyl showing without any
lettering.
I have never had any trouble with dry placing the
decals. After 20+ years of attaching shoe soles and
such using "one chance, grip forever" contact
adhesives decals seem pretty easy. :-)
I once had delusions that when I retired from the
businesses (about 1996) that I would have plenty of
time to get tractors (and the whole farm) fixed up and
painted... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! Hasn't
happened. :-(
Too many years of bad crops from silly local weather
extremes, lousy market prices and minor health issues
have really held things back.
I did manage to get about 1/3rd of one small wall on
the east barn wood siding re-nailed yesterday before
it started feeling like my right arm was in danger of
flying off. I'll try to sneak another section that
size today.
I am making reasonable progress at getting some of my
"stuff" cleaned up and reorganized but needing to
squeeze in enough little paying jobs to eat keeps
getting in the way.
