Funny you should mention it Cecil...We have a one horse bobsled (2 sets of
runners, the front ones steer) that we hitch to my wife's Belgian, Sue. In fact
I just got home from picking up my wife's Christmas present..a new harness for
Sue.
Our bobsled has a single seat for 2 people and space in the back for
"stuff"...kinda like a horse drawn pickup truck. We've looked at Cutters but I'm
pretty sure I'd smash the runners by turning too sharp or hitting a dry spot on the
ground. The bobsled is much more forgiving for neophyte teamsters like my
wife and me.
Sue really likes being hitched to the bobsled. She weighs in at about 2000
lb. and the effort required to pull the bobsled is very small. Last year was the
first time we used it and I think Sue took my wife for a 6 mile ride at a
trot before she finally settled down to a walk. The funniest part was watching
Andy, the miniature donkey, trying to keep up....those little legs can really
move!

many of the people on this List have ever owned, ridden in, or driven a
horse hooked up to a one horse sleigh? I have and enjoyed it a lot.
We had a one horse cutter on the farm when I was a kid and it didn't
take us long to figure out how to harness up one of the smaller horses
and hook him up to the cutter. If you are not familiar with the term
"cutter" it is a nice light one horse sleigh with thin runners, a nice
padded seat and room for two people - maybe three if you squeezed in. >>
