[AT] A wasteland on TV

Cecil and Phil;
First, I'm glad someone else has the same feelings about commercial TV as we
do here. I have plied through the FCC pages in a vain attempt to find some
way to complain to someone, anyone. It just seems virtually impossible to
camplain about programming. The FCC seems to be nothing more than just
another useless federal agency. They have NO , or very isolated authority
over programming. So called "indecency", numbers of commercials on childrens
programming only, and sources of interference seem to be their areas of some
responsibility. The amount of information they require for a complaint is
daunting and will send most folks away shaking their heads.
As for my household, Vera and I have both cable (MEDIACOM) and Dish NETWORK.
We've had Mediacom for quite some time and are somewhat hooked on it because
it is also our computer internet service. (mchsi) The computer internet
service rises $10 per month IF we don't also take the basic TV cable
service. Take all of that, add to it the Dish Network monthly fees and I'm
ashamed to say what it all adds up to. AND THEN THE PROGRAMMING IS TOTALLY A
"WASTELAND" as you say.
It all seems to be mostly junk except for the mchsi service. It's 24 hour,
very fast, virtually flawless, with almost immediate response to complaints.
The ONLY thing a consumer can do is to unsubscribe, and then it takes a
bunch of customers to cause a change.
