[AT] Dodge diesel oil filter number

I've seen and used a lot of different brand oil filters over the years on
this farm. Fram was always the biggest percentage used mainly because thats
what the local co-op sold. Interestingly, I have heard occasional comments
that fram is one of the poorest quality filters too. So far I have never had
a bad one. I'm wondering if it is not similar to the old Champion spark plug
debate. The fact that there are so many Fram filters used might mean that
when somebody has a filter related engine problem, chances are he had a fram
filter on it.
Lately I have changed over to Fleetguard for most of the farm equipment
since Fram did not always have the unique style of filters that some of the
machinery takes. Also , with the extended hour oil change on the big tractor
I believe they do recommend either a Case or Fleetguard oil filter for the
Cummins engine.
