[AT] [External] V belt quality?

Well that’s good to know. After some more thinking it was the spreader belt on an old Allis Gleaner E combine that I bought the belt. But it fit and I wasn’t in a time crunch so that didn’t apply to me. But again, this was probably 20 years ago now so who knows what to expect.

I ordered many belts from them several years ago. The last time I ordered a new Swather belt from them before a 3 day weekend. I paid an additional $20 for second day air delivery. It was for a John Deere and their cost was a fortune. The belt was supposed to arrive on Thursday before that weekend. On Thursday It did not arrive. I called on Friday Morning and after 2 hours of their searching, the shipping clerk had not put the correct sticker on my package. The belt arrived later the next week and I never was refunded the charge for the second day air service. We ended up going to Deere and driving 125 miles one way and paying over $100 for that belt. Our hay was rained on, since it took most of the day to install the belt we were behind a day.
I refused to do business with them thereafter.
Just my $0.02

There was a time many moons ago that either this vendor was active here or another member or two had used them with good results. I believe I may in fact have ordered a belt from them but it’s been long ago. Might be someone to check out.

I run a Woods mower on my Deere M. Have bought quality belts from a local bearing/belt/etc. supplier for 43 years now, costs a little more but the quality has been noticeably better than the occasional belt that I bought online or from the big box farm supply store. Alas, my supplier has gone with a cheaper line of belts and they don’t last at all.
How would folks rank the common V belt lines? I used to get PIX belts from these folks, they held up OK. Current line is D&D, I had trouble with that brand before when I bought online. Dayton used to be the standard belt on the farm when I was growing up, haven’t seen that brand for some time now. I’m also seeing Vermeer and Snapper belts online. I’m not finding Woods belts, maybe I have to go to the local dealer for that brand?
