[AT] Moving railroad ties

First question, what size tractor and loader?

That is a lot of moment arm with a fairly heavy object. I know my 
compact tractor couldn't even attempt it. My old AC 45 with a DuAl 350 
wouldn't care though..

Probably the best way would be to rig up some kind up upright at the 
back of the bucket and get a chain over that out towards the free end of 
the tie.

Also how about rigging up a boom type setup for the 3 point and going at 
it from the other end of the tractor?

I'm guessing the ditch is wet or otherwise impassable?

Can you toss a rope over the ditch and then get to the other side and 
pull them across?
