[AT] Cub Fuel Tank

This is the method I've always used, we last did the tank on Ryan's sportster we used hardware, nuts with square corners and Phillips head screws. We put some diesel in the tank and shook it vigorously then attached it to the rear wheel of the lawn tractor and I mowed the lawn. Repeated the process a couple of times letting the tank sit. Repeat one last time with dish soap and water.

Rinse with alcohol and apply the sealer.

See if diesel will break down your gunk, if not find a solvent that will and substitute that

Good luck!

It appears that sometime in it’s past life someone tried to install a gas tank liner that failed and now looks like the pictures. Most of this came out using a salad tong, but as prices are getting smaller, it is getting less each time I try to grab some. Tried using a “air chugger pump” with limited success. Stuff is too “clumped” to run out of tank bottom outlet. Blowing air into the tank moves the stuff, but does not get it out.
