[AT] Riggers Vise

The size I need is for 3/8 to 1-1/4.  That would work on my small
wrecker to my dozer, haul truck and crane.  That size is $800 Alibaba
takes about 6 months to get shipped and you have to buy a lot of 10
usually.  It is not a fast moving item.   Also, even though a woven eye
splice is stronger than a clamped one, the regulatory idiots were
lobbied to specify 3 clamps or a wedge socket.  The loggers still use a
woven eye in a situation where safety matters.  There are a lot of
injuries caused by loose ends of the cable stuck out of a clamp hitting
flesh and bone, or that heavy wedge slinging around and hitting a body
part.   I really like cables for pulling and hitches, but the cable
clamps are a pain in the butt.

They’re not that complicated of a devise, just need to be sturdy. On small diameter cables I’ve been successful using several pairs of vise grips to form the cable around the eye nice and tight. Just clamp with first two, add third, move second and re-clamp, move third and re-clamp, etc. Could probably do the same with c-clamps. Good luck.
