Cecil,

I’m guessing that you opened up the motor in order to know that water got in. Sometimes you can simply dry out the unit by separating it into its two main parts and baking them in an oven for a short while at a low temperature to remove any moisture. Then put it back together and test it on a bench. Don’t let the parts get too hot or you may damage the insulation on the wire and there’s no coming back from that. All you really want to do is try to remove any moisture.

The motor on my feed bin that augers out the feed to my welfare cows 
quit today.  It was a totally enclosed motor but it got water in it.  It 
is very similar to an old late 50s early 60s Ford starter.  The front 
end at the output is round like a motor as it is clamped in a bracket to 
run on the feeder.   I cannot find one online, and it will be a week to 
get one from Bar 6 in KS where it was built.   Do any of you guys have a 
part number for something like this.
