[AT] International 986 vs 1086?

Around here, the Farmall and International “three number” series tractors are getting really popular and prices are increasing pretty quickly. And this was always International and Farmall territory.  So supply is good but the prices are going up.

I expect you will not get a bargain unless the auction is poorly attended.

As to your choice: 1086 is a huge machine. The 986 should give you all the fun and usefulness you need with a footprint that’s a few thousand pounds lighter.

PS:   Years ago a neighbor leased about 60 acres next to me to a local farmer. He used a 986(maybe a 966???). I used to love to listen to that thing run.
