[AT] tractor electrical question

I’m not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I’m pretty sure that solving your issue with a jumper directly from the battery completely rules out  the coil and anything in front of it like the points, etc. I’m with Carl:  check the starter switch monkey works or general circuitry, connections, etc.
