You can use plain white vinegar to remove corrosion. It really helps if you can boil the part in the vinegar. The acidic property of the vinegar is what does it, and heat amplifies the action.

I’ve used it to clean plugged ports on brass parts in less than 15 minutes. You can see the junk bubbling out.
