When the production of Agco, Challenger, and Massey Ferguson tractors destined for North America was stopped at Beauvais, France and the production of Massey Ferguson and Challenger wheeled tractors resumed in Jackson, it is possible that a few parts unique to the Agco models were no longer made. The Agco models were only being sold in North America. Quite possibly any tooling, text fixtures, know-how, etc. needed to make the parts is gone and would be cost prohibitive to recreate.

In the past, some models of Massey Ferguson were made by Carraro Agritalia. When that model production ended, so probably did the supply of spare parts. Agco seems to be getting around that by having the smaller tractors made by TAFE in India. Agco and TAFE have bought into each other. Deere deals with Carraro Agritalia also.

Cecil Bearden AT List member, Oklahoma farmer, and Professional Engineer (crbearden at copper.net); I did not say anything about a loss, once they took over, there were no more parts available....
