The old D6 had been sitting for nearly 10 years and the pony motor was a
pain to keep running while cranking the main engine. The last few times
we used it we pushed it to start. I needed to drain the fuel from the
pump , lines and bottom of tank before cranking. We pushed the D6 onto
the trailer with the D6D. The fellow who did the pushing was very
experienced. He grew up on a dozer. The old D6 had a stuck rack and
plungers in the pump. The fellow who I traded with grew up in the oil
patch and worked on anything diesel in Portland Oregon for many years....

The fellow I traded with is a real mechanic. We dropped the dozer off at about 1pm Sunday and loaded the grader and headed home. He had the dozer running before dark!!!!! <snip>
