[AT] OT drain plug size

No but very similar issue on a 2006 F350. Only happened every once in a blue moon(like 3 times in 6-7 years) and it only happened during towing(antique tractor reference). One clue may have been that the tow/haul button never worked.

My symptoms were my entire computer would go haywire or reboot or something. I would lose all dash inputs (speedometer, tach, fuel gauge, etc.) get a flash of all lights, cruise would disengage, I would loose torque converter lockup (judging by loss of engine braking on hills but never really sure) but not sure on gears. Not real change in rpm so don’t think so.

Also, all symptoms would disappear at the next engine restart.

So I burnt in a towing program(can’t remember whose it was) but it happened again. When this happened I didn’t lose torque lock-up anymore so the program helped some.

I always suspected the aftermarket brake controller to the point I switched it out. It never happened again but I only owned the truck for another two years after that and I may not have had a long enough sample time.

Scary as #*<#€ going 70 with a loaded trailer....

Not sure if that was helpful but close enough set of symptoms to mention it.

Haven't needed to change the fluid on either one yet, per the mileage, at least, and the Fusion exhibited the "bang shifting" issue going to reverse when cold, so the trans was repaired under warranty with new fluid at about 20k. I am currently experiencing an issue with the F150, however. Driving on cruise control, the cruise suddenly drops out and will not re-engage. The wrench icon appears on the dash and there is no overdrive (fifth and sixth gears) at all. Trans torque converter does not lock up. The first few times it happened I was able to get everything working by reseating the relays in the fuse panel at the front of the engine bay. This last time that did not work. I am praying that it is not the Transmission Control Module because I know that part will be over $1,000 to R&R. Anyone have any experience with this issue on a '09-'14 F150?

My problem on this drain plug was the plug head was so soft the pliers just chewed the metal off. The fine teeth of the knipex pliers worked the best. I have a pair coming from Amazon for the next oil change. This was an ex Hertz car. Perhaps in its history the oil pan could have been changed and a different plug was installed. The oil pan could have been damaged on a parking block as it is the lowest point at the front of the vehicle. Some really great engineering. Just like the spare tire mounted underneath between the front seats. You have to remove the center console interior and use the jack handle to lower the spare and hope has air in it. We have had great service from the earlier models and that is the only reason I looked for another one when our old one was rear ended by a "texter". However, this is the last one. I have had a problem every time I went to do any normal maintenance. You have to remove the air filter box to get to the high side air conditioner access port. It was one lb low of freon and I could not find the ports to hook my gauges to. There is no dipstick for the transmission. According to Chrysler, you drain the oil and measure it then pour it back in. There is a you tube video of how to use the engine dipstick and mark it for transmission... No more Dodges for me..
