Years ago, 1950+/-, I remember my Dad telling a cousin that in the past doctors had been telling retiring male patients "Charlie, you have worked hard farming all of your life; sit back and relax. A few years later Charlies were dying. The medical world soon realized this; they readily changed their recommendations to 'Deep working, keep active Charlie'". And that readily extended Charlies life span Herb(GA).

I'm still slower and I am still behind but I still spend a fair amount of time swinging from a chainsaw and I do all of my wood splitting by hand with an 8 pound maul. Really big blocks especially those that are really gnarly I split with a batch of wedges (the real old ones are far better than the new ones) and a 10 pound sledge.

It doesn't much matter what I am doing as long as I keep doing. Too many of my old classmates that I stay in contact with are just sitting around and are barely active at all.
