An update on the compressor problem. I received a post on Smokstak
from a former owner of a smaller Inger soll compressor who stated that
this occurred on his unit just before the compressor end failed and he
could not get parts so he junked it... I cannot afford to let this one
get junked, so I am trying to find out what to look for. Last year when
running at idle I would hear something like a dry bearing squeal, but
could find nothing out of the ordinary. I remember Bo Hinch telling me
that he used to make the vanes for these compressors and nearly
everything could be re-made on them from a machine shop.
